Pregnancy is a transitional time when many physical and emotional changes take place. Prenatal yoga is about honoring these changes in ourselves, our body and our baby. It helps to prepare moms for a more mindful approach to the challenges of pregnancy, labor and delivery, bringing focus and connection between mother and baby.
Postures and breathing practices are done to strengthen and relax the rapidly changing body during pregnancy. Increased flexibility, strengthening of the pelvis and uterine muscles and an increased ability to relax will be beneficial during the roller coaster experience of pregnancy and childbirth.
No previous yoga experience is necessary. Wear layers of loose, comfortable clothes. Bring a yoga mat (although we'll have one for you to borrow if you don't have one!) and a bottle of water.
Private lessons are also available. There will be no childcare available, please make other arrangements for childcare during your yoga class. Classes are held at Savannah Yoga Barre on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM. The classes are taught as a six week session. Participants can sign up at anytime and pay a prorated price.. There will not be childcare available, please make arrangements for childcare during your yoga class. Try to refrain from eating 1 to 2 hours prior to class, however, know your body and eat a light snack prior to class if necessary.
